The Art Gallery of Landskrona
The strict architecture of concrete and glass is considered one of the best examples of Swedish modernism.
Landskrona art gallery was built in 1963 at Landskrona's 550th anniversary as an exhibition hall for industrial design. The hall was designed by architects Sten Samuelsson and Fritz Jaenecke. This was the only building that was preserved in Slottsparken after the anniversary ended.
Landskrona Art Gallery is one of Skåne's most beautiful art galleries and the exhibitors favorite. With its large window walls, and its practical design the gallery blends into the surrounding park. The simplicity of the hall highlights and enhances the art and light plays with the viewer's eye.
The Gallery’s southwestern wall is decorated with a sculptural glass wall by the glass designer Erik Höglund. Housed in the gallery is also a cafe with decor remaining from the opening in 1963.
